Mario Cruz
Senior Associate
Mario began his career with Bolet & Terrero as an assistant in the Legal Department and has been with the firm for nearly three decades. Today, he is a senior associate and head of the trademark prosecution section. He is particularly skilled at prosecution tasks in both, patents and trademarks, where he deals with filings, ownership recordals, renewals, and document formalities. As head of the firm’s trademark prosecution section, he oversees firm-wide filing and renewal work.
His colleagues rely on his significant expertise, particularly, in classifying products and services and his deep knowledge of the Nice classification system. He is knowledgeable about even the most obscure prosecution nuances and is very adept at arguing formality and classification issues, which are consistently raised by the local PTO.
In addition to his IP practice, Mario handles certain corporate work, assisting especially with incorporation of business associations, for which he prepares and drafts the related documents.
